Project Description:

This project has a heritage aspect with the original sandstone workers cottage is over 150 years old. In the past 150 years the cottage had many additions added one on top of another. We stripped everything back to its original form. We then worked around this core to restore the original cottage to its former glory.

Challenges:

The site access is challenging as the access to the rear of the site, where most of the work occurred was obstructed by the original cottage. All demolished waste and excavated soil was removed through a gap less than a meter wide. All works to the original cottage had to be approved by a heritage architect. Samples of all materials required approval prior to use.
